DECADEX EVERCLEAN

For over 25 years, DECADEX EVERCLEAN has been one of the global best selling products in the area of technology of liquid membranes which has not been surpassed due to its quality, efficiency and long-term service life.

The original composition could compete with existing protective systems; despite this fact DECADEX EVERCLEAN is the subject of permanent investigation. With respect to the global climatic conditions, a perfect system was developed which provides the maximum possible protection of construction materials which are permanently changed.

The reliable and price acceptable protective coating DECADEX EVERCLEAN for outdoor walls and for concrete was tested in 120 countries, e.g. cold Greenland and in hot countries with permanent changes of temperature like in the Middle East.

DECADEX EVERCLEAN is a single-element product which can be applied by roller or air-less device and dries as jointless, elastomer, breathable and even as a tight layer. Due to easy application, various use and internationally verified performance, DECADEX EVERCLEAN fulfils the most demanding standards.

DECADEX EVERCLEAN provides a good substitute for the usual methods and materials and is available in many attractive, ecologically-friendly colours.

Technical data

Impregnating first coat for:

• Burnt bricks, concrete, wood, bitumen, natural stone, plasterboard, paint, polyester, glass-concrete.

Asbestos cement: PP PU PRIMER

• Metal: PP METAL PRIMER AQ
• DECADEX EVERCLEAN – coat older than 7 days): PP PU PRIMER

Treatment of the surface for mould:

After mechanical removing of the mould, treat the surface with PP BIOWASH.

Strengthening of the DECADEX EVERCLEAN coat by means of REEMAT FLEXITAPE:

After cleaning and impregnation of surface: on both sides of cracks, joints or gaps apply one layer of DECADEX EVERCLEAN with a width of approximately: 8 –15 cm. Apply by means of the REEMAT FLEXITAPE brush onto a wet layer. Cover again with a further coat of DECADEX EVERCLEAN and leave to dry.

Equipment for application:

Brush: The best results are achieved by using a wide, soft nylon brush. The dried DECADEX EVERCLEAN can be removed by fuel, chemical detergents for dilution of cellulose, xylene or toluene.
Spraying equipment: most types of spraying devices are recommended for industrial use (pressure: 175-210 Kg/cm2, size of nozzle 0.483-0.737 mm).
Roller: only for the application of coats for suitable, i.e. plain and less penetrated surfaces.

STORAGE: Protect against frost and up to a temperature of 40 °C.

FLAMMABILITY: not flammable – on a water basis

CONTENT OF SOLID SUBSTANCES: almost 64 % mass.

SPECIFIC WEIGHT: 1.215 kg/l.

PP PU PRIMER + PP METAL PRIMER AQ: 1 litr, 5 litres a 25 litres.

Colour shades:

PP white, black, light grey, medium grey, dark grey, medium green, grey green, light green, cream, magnolia, oxide red.
The ordering of the paint is from a minimum volume of 300 l. Natural weathering may cause a slight change of colour. On the basis the process of ageing and climatic conditions, a white colour may slightly turn yellow. It is possible to mutually mix all colours.

Time of drying:

- Surface without dust: 15 min. až 6 hours
- Dry surface: 1 až 6 hours
- New coat: 4 až 24 hours

Depends on the weather, e.g. wind, temperature and air humidity.

Laboratory data

Fast test for weathering: DECADEX EVERCLEAN was affected during 5,000 hours by UV radiation of carbon arc and alternate altering by cold water. After the test samples proved the same flexibility and reported only a very small loss of flexibility. (according to BS 3900 P3).
Flexibility of free coat: according to the Frank scale: 1020 %.
Penetration of water steam: 5,5 kg/ m2/ 24 hod. (dle TNO V-88-099 KAA).
Resistance to diffusion of water steams: μH2O = 2 210 (Sd = 0,77 m) (according to Klopfera, Dortmund University)
Resistance to diffusion of carbon dioxide: μCO2 = 5 200 000 (Sd = 1 820 m) (according to Klopfera, Dortmund University).

Protection against carbonization in practice:

Tests by the Dutch testing institute of INTRON on one reference object after 27 years of applied DECADEX: during these 27 years there was no intact carbonization in the concrete. Parts of the concrete which had not been treated reported a level of carbonization up to 18 mm-

Adherence to concrete according to TNO V-88-099 KAA:

• breaking strength test: 10-17 kg/ cm2 (1-1.7 N/ mm2). Breaking mainly in colour and concrete
• test by grading cut (3 x 3 cm): class 0 (i.e. the best result according to NEN 5337)
• peel off test: no result (cannot be peeled)

Penetration of water:

• Damage none
• Adherence (3 x 3 mm): class 0.
• Penetration of moisture: 0 mm.

Testing during two weeks under 30 cm of water column.

Resistance to chemicals:

10% of acid and alkaline solutions, including hydrogen nitrate, sodium hydrate and solvents did not break even after affection of sedimentation at the temperature of 20 °C on the DECADEX EVERCLEAN membrane.

Resistance to salts originated by melting:

Resistance to frost and melting (ecological standard B 4200 and ecological standard B 3303).

Penetration of chlorides:

Maximum absorption in the concrete according to TNO V-88-099 KAA is in the depth 0-7 mm: 0.41 mg/g (untreated concrete 4.74 mg/g). In the depth 7-14 mm: 0.19 mg/g (untreated 4.3 mg/g).

Frost/ melting:

DECADEX EVERCLEAN was repeatedly affected by 6-hour cycles of temperatures from -50 °C and consequently 18-hour temperatures from 100 °C: the appearance and flexibility of the coat did not change:

Resistance to shocks: Resistance up to 5 mm (according to BS 3900E3).

Coefficient of the diffusion of oxygen: 6 x 10-11 m²/ s.

Approval for the protection of concrete: according to Swiss standards: LPM A 6909-1.

Approved in Bureau Veritas: (testing certificate 1505-CN52B 950042 S).

Description of load sheet

Description: is dispersion substance on a water basis of modified copolymers of butadienes which contain inactive pigments and fillers. The product is applied in two layers by brush, roller or spraying device (do not dilute or mix with other paints).

The product was also developed as a decorative protection against moisture for outdoor walls, as well as protection against carbonization. After the application a self-cleaning layer is produced which is permanently flexible.

Regulations for use

1. Cleaning of bases:
   1. dirt, mould, oil, grease and corrosion can be removed by a mechanical tool, water and solvent. Leave it to dry.
   2. Damage of the concrete with FLEXCRETE repair mortar (compare note 4).
   3. Treat surfaces affected by mould with PP BIOWASH.
   4. After treatment of gaps request technical advice.
2. Core of the first (impregnating) layer: only on a dry base:
   1. Treat all metal surfaces or parts with PP METAL PRIMER AQ. Firstly treat strongly corroded areas with PP METAL PRIMER AQ and then the coat with the layer PP Metall-Grundierer (for the first coat)
   2. Other areas: apply the PP PU PRIMER layer. Leave it to dry.
3. Application of the DECADEX EVERCLEAN coat:
   1. Coat for the first DECADEX EVERCLEAN layer in another colour other than the final layer. Coat maximally within 7 days from the application of the impregnating coat.
   2. Coat the final DECADEX EVERCLEAN layer in the required shade maximally within 7 days from the application of the first layer.

Notes

1. For individual surfaces you will receive instructions from the supplier.
2. Treatment of cracks, joints, gaps and overlapping: prepare and clean the surface, apply a first suitable (impregnating) coat on both sides of the gaps and joints.
   Apply the first layer of DECADEX EVERCLEAN width 8-15 cm. Cover joints and gaps with FLEXITAPE HD over a wet layer. Then apply the other DECADEX EVERCLEAN layer and leave it to dry.
3. The minimum required thickness of the coat must be maintained, because it ensures an extraordinary long service life.
4. The FLEXCRETE repair mortar is a product of PENTAGON PLASTICS NV. This modified mortar on a cement basis with copolymers of styrenacrylate will be newly developed and will be tested by TNO-IBBC, Labo Magnel and WTCB.

Important

Do not dilute or apply conventional paints. Do not use during damp weather, during rain or at temperatures which vary slightly below the freezing point. When using a spraying device, use a nose or face mask. Protect against frost and heat.
